Hello! I’m Ken and I run Whats Up Tucson. I am also a radio dj on The Drive Tucson.
I was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix on August 21, 2026. When I was operated on to have it removed, the surgeon discovered that I had a tumor at the top of my colon and it had eaten into my appendix, which caused the rupture. At that time, my appendix was removed along with two inches of my colon. The pathology of the tumor determined it is colon cancer.
I have another surgery scheduled to remove more colon and lymph nodes in early November. After that, chemotherapy. I have a long road ahead for cancer treatment.
Trying to stay alive is expensive! I’m doing my best to work as much as I am able to pay for as much as I can myself. I do have medical insurance but it only covers a portion of the expenses. If you are able to help with a buck or two to help cover what insurance does not, that would be amazing.
